A former BP top-manager became LLK Lubricants Romania head

Michael Weiss, former head of BP oil product sales in Germany has been appointed to head up LLK Lubricants Romania S.R.L. (the LLK-International lubricants producing and distributing subsidiary in Romania). The new CEO will be responsible for developing LUKOIL’s lubricants business in Central and Eastern Europe.

Michael Weiss was born in 1969 in Italy. In 1994, he received a МВА (Master of Business Administration) from Vienna University of Economics (Austria) and then, the same year, graduated from Vienna Technical University (Austria) in Business and Informatics. He is fluent in German, Italian and English.

From 1994 to 1997, Michael Weiss worked as territorial fuels manager for Mobil Oil and then became a business and investment consultant for ВР. In 2005-2006, he headed up BP retail sales of lubricants in Poland, with sales rising by 25% during his first year in the job. In 2006-2007, Michael Weiss was BP operations manager for lubricants in Eastern Europe; in 2007-2008, he was BP general manager for lubricants in Slovakia, Croatia and Serbia.

In 2008-2011, Michael Weiss worked as BP general manager for lubricants in Romania, Moldavia and Bulgaria, achieving a growth in oil sales even during the overall drop in the market. Before joining LLK-International, Michael Weiss was in charge of the ВР lubricant sales business in Germany, with a turnover of more than 350 million Euros a year.
