LUKOIL OPENS LUBRICANTS PLANT IN KAZAKHSTAN

Today, Kazakhstan’s Prime Minister Askar Mamin and LUKOIL President Vagit Alekperov launched a new lubricants plant with an output capacity of 100,000 tons a year in the Almaty Region of Kazakhstan. More than 800 products will be manufactured at the plant, including LUKOIL GENESIS engine oils based on innovative molecular technology, and approved by the world’s leading automakers.

The plant’s location optimizes logistics of LUKOIL’s lubricants business in Kazakhstan and Central Asia. The manufacturing process and product delivery to customers take 24 hours due to an advanced level of industrial process automation. The high level of oil quality is ensured by the state-of-the-art laboratory equipment.

The project has been implemented in strict compliance with Kazakhstan’s legislation and international rules on HSE. The likelihood of seismic activity was also taken into account at the designing stage.

The plant’s launch will provide more than 200 jobs for residents of Kazakhstan, including young professionals attending local universities.
